La Mouette Sinagote
La Mouette Sinagote is a competition and leisure sailing club in Séné on the Gulf of Morbihan in Brittany. The club base at Pointe du Bill in Moustérian offers year-round sailing on one of the region's most sheltered stretches of water, surrounded by beaches and with views of the islands of Île d'Arz, Boëdé and Hur. The programme includes a sailing school, youth and adult sections and competition coaching in classes such as Optimist, Laser Vago, 29er, 420 and Open Bic, as well as windsurfing and wingfoiling. Regular training on Wednesdays and Saturdays, training camps and numerous regattas shape club life. Founded in 1989, the club ranks among Brittany's strong youth clubs and regularly produces sailors at national and international level.
History
La Mouette Sinagote was founded on 30 May 1989 under the name USPAV and celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2019 at the Séné base. The club grew into a strong competition and leisure club on the Gulf of Morbihan and works closely with 47 Nautik, the Morbihan Departmental Sailing Committee and Vannes Golfe du Morbihan Agglomération. In 2018 it was named a Top Club at the Paris Boat Show as the club with the most youth licence holders in Brittany (142 licences). Benoît Marcesche served as president from 2016 to 2019; early in 2020 Rémi Vidor took over the presidency. In the following years the club built strong competition pathways in Optimist, windsurfing, windfoiling and skiff and produced sailors up to European championships, national titles and Olympic projects, including successes by Claire Leroy in match racing and Pierre-Alexis Ponsot in the Star class. The Pointe du Bill base was expanded with a weather station and live webcam; the fleet and youth programme remain central pillars of club life.
