Oulun Työväen Pursiseura ry
Oulun Työväen Pursiseura ry (OTPS) is a traditional sailing and boating club in Oulu, Finland, founded in 1912. The club base and Seelari harbour are in the Hietasaari district near the city centre on the Baltic coast. Members use around 156 berths, winter storage on the yard and in two halls, a fixed boat crane and mast crane, and slipways. Services include harbour and boat support, guest berths, two island bases (Saapaskari and Röyttä), junior activities and racing together with Sailing Team Oulu. Grill evenings, training and community life shape everyday club life for families, juniors and active boaters.
History
Oulun Työväen Pursiseura ry was founded in 1912 and is regarded as a traditional sailing club in Oulu. From the outset OTPS was known as a racing club; early racing used homemade boats or boats developed from fishing craft. In 1953 the first Hai boat joined the club; at peak there were about ten Hai boats. Junior sailing began in the 1950s with Vikla and Lightning boats; Optimists arrived in the mid-1960s and remain popular, later joined by Zoom and E-dinghies. Boats grew larger over the decades; besides Hai classes, racing also includes large cruising yachts and Finrating handicap classes (1–3). Since 2020 race entry uses Manage2Sail. Competition organisation is now under Sailing Team Oulu ry (STO), while sailors still represent their home club OTPS. The club maintains Seelari harbour with berths, winter storage and two island bases (Saapaskari off Hailuoto and Röyttä off Ii). A full club history page is announced on the website as coming soon.

Seelari harbour in Hietasaari with about 156 berths, around 200 places according to club information, winter storage on the yard and in two halls (Puuvenehalli and Marinehalli), fixed boat and mast crane, slipways, power and water, WC/accessible WC and showers, grill shelter, sauna, waste facilities, septic pump-out, guest berths and island bases Saapaskari and Röyttä with cabins and sauna.

Harbour and boat services including lifts and launching, annual boat inspections under SPV rules, junior programmes and summer activities, racing via Sailing Team Oulu, training and safety education, club events such as grill evenings and island festivals, guest berth service and community life by the sea.
Youth section
Active junior section: summer programmes with play, bark boats, fishing and boating; Optimist sailing still popular; youth sailing and courses via Sailing Team Oulu; junior membership from age 7 with at least 25 metres swimming ability.
