Klub Żeglarski Odlewnik
Klub Żeglarski Odlewnik is the sailing club of the town of Śrem in Greater Poland and runs club life on the local waters with its own pier facilities. Club chronicles date back to 1969; additional club chronicles from 1992 and photo albums of the seasons from 1994 through 2024 document club activities. Facilities include the mooring pier (pomost cumowniczy) and the club grounds, shown in the albums among other things with pier reinforcement work and new fenders. The programme covers season openings and closings, regattas, dinghy and youth sailing with Optimists, and courses for the Polish yacht sailor rank. With anniversary regattas for the 25th and 30th club anniversaries and close ties to Śrem’s water scouts, Odlewnik is a firmly rooted local sailing club.
History
According to club records, the chronicle of Klub Żeglarski Odlewnik in Śrem begins as early as 1969. A separate club chronicle documents developments from 1992 onwards. Club life includes anniversary celebrations: the 25th anniversary with regattas and the 30th anniversary of the club are documented. In parallel, chronicles of the water scout units of Hufiec Śrem from 1979 and of the 4th Water Scout Troop at K.Z. Odlewnik from 1990, as well as the 4th Water Scout Troop named after L. Teliga from 1996, have been preserved. Photo albums for the 1994 season and continuously for 2003 to 2024 show the club year with winter operations, season start, pier works (including reinforcement of the mooring pier in 2016), courses for the yacht sailor rank, boat christenings (including Magja and Kapitan in 2016), shanties by the campfire, and season closing plus Christmas gatherings. Regattas shape the sporting profile, including season-start regattas, the Omega regatta for the Mayor of Śrem’s cup, the Kłoskowo cup regatta, and the Optimist regatta for the Commodore’s cup.
