History

Jedriličarski klub Šibenik is an active sailing club in the Šibenik region and has established itself as one of Croatia’s most successful youth sailing collectives. Its sports facilities are at Kamp Jasenovo in Žaborić, with direct access to the Šibenik archipelago. The club systematically develops youth programmes and trains sailors from Optimist through 420 to the Olympic single-handed ILCA 7. In 2026 JK Šibenik had national-team sailors in all age categories: Jakov Blinja qualified for the Optimist World Championship in Tangier and reached the gold fleet as the only Croatian; junior 420 representatives and senior Milan Vujasinović (ILCA 7) added to the record. The club regularly hosts international events, including the Croatian Trophy Challenge for Formula 18 catamarans with crews from several countries. Members also compete in regional and national regattas such as the Vegina Spring Regatta, the Zlarin cruiser regatta and the humanitarian Lions Regatta. President Simon Triva and his crew won the 27th Lions Regatta in Sukošan in 2026. The club also runs a children’s sailing school at Camp Maris Oasis and cooperates closely with neighbouring clubs such as JK Spužvar.
