Jachtklub Łomianki
Jachtklub Łomianki is a non-profit sailing club in Łomianki near Warsaw, founded in June 2005 by local sailors. The association operates without commercial intent and cooperates closely with the municipality of Łomianki on training, social projects and educational events. The club fleet includes inland yachts such as Orion “Stary Folwark”, Phobos 24 “Fobos” and Solina 800 “Inna”; members receive briefings, technical support and skipper assistance. Since 2011 the club has run Szkoła Żeglarstwa with courses for Polish sailing licences, inland and sea cruises and lectures. Youth and family programmes, racing and shared outings on Jezioro Dziekanowskie, Zalew Zegrzyński and the Masurian Lakes shape club life.
History
In June 2005 a group of local sailors founded Jachtklub Łomianki without financial, premises or equipment resources, driven solely by passion for sailing. In the founding year the cabin yacht Giga 3 was purchased; the 2005 season was spent on Zalew Włocławski, followed by racing training on Zalew Zegrzyński in September. In 2006 the programme “Żeglarstwo bez barier” began with offers for people with disabilities and young people from low-income families. In 2008 the club gained legal personality as Stowarzyszenie Jachtklub Łomianki and bought an Omega for courses on Jezioro Dziekanowskie; first sea cruises to Croatia and Baltic skipper training also started. From 2009 the municipality of Łomianki funded projects; club crews won trophies in Omega races on Zalew Włocławski. In 2011 the long-term Szkoła Żeglarstwa began, enabling residents to sail recreationally, train and obtain licences. In 2012 the social project “Żeglarstwo jako sposób na przeciwdziałanie patologiom społecznym” followed. In 2016 Omega and Giga III were sold and replaced by a Phobos 24 (“Łomianki 1”, christened by the mayor) and a newer Omega Ostróda (“Łomianki 2”); Akademia Młodego Żeglarza also started. In 2018, with municipal support, the club bought a Sasanka 660 and ran three major municipal projects with 185 participants and 520 teaching hours. In 2019 a Solina 800 was purchased and a Baltic multi-stage cruise lasting over 30 days took place. Despite the pandemic, 2021 was intensive: lectures, licence courses for 20 graduates, a five-stage Baltic cruise covering over 1,200 nautical miles, and the Weekend Żeglarski event. To this day the club organises inland and sea cruises (Masuria, Baltic, Mediterranean), licence courses and shared fleet maintenance with yachts such as Orion “Stary Folwark”, Phobos 24 “Fobos” and Solina 800 “Inna”.

Active youth support via Szkoła Żeglarstwa and Akademia Młodego Żeglarza as well as social projects for young people aged 14 to 26 with courses, inland and sea cruises.
