The rowing and sailing club Hermann Billung Celle e.V. is a traditional watersports club in Celle, founded in 1924. The club is situated directly on the River Aller and also uses a sailing area at Lake Hüttensee, so both rowing and sailing are part of the programme. Regattas, work parties, club events and a dedicated club app shape community life. For more than a hundred years Hermann Billung Celle has combined tradition with a modern sporting spirit and warmly invites new members on board.
History
The rowing and sailing club Hermann Billung Celle e.V. was founded in 1924 and looks back on more than a hundred years of watersports tradition. From the beginning the club has given watersports enthusiasts in Celle a home and united rowing and sailing under one roof. The site lies directly on the Aller; sailing also takes place on Lake Hüttensee. Alongside sport, community and youth work are central: work parties at the boathouse, boat christenings, the founding of a support association and the annual general meeting mark the calendar. The rowing youth competes at events such as the Talentiade in Celle and the JuM children's regatta in Bremen; the season opening row on Ziegeninsel starts the year. Social highlights such as the rowing ball at Congress Union Celle and the summer festival strengthen cohesion. With its own club app and modern equipment such as new ergometers for winter training, the club carries its long tradition into the present.
