Hamar Båtforening
Hamar Båtforening is the official boat association in Hamar on Lake Mjøsa, with a clubhouse and harbour facilities on Tjuvholmen. The club offers around 540 berths in the Brygga and Tjuvholmen harbours as well as a clubhouse with the attached Tjuvholmen Kro. In addition to club life, the site provides a seasonal motorhome parking area with electricity, water and sanitary facilities, plus slipway access. Public activities such as boat processions and maritime safety days shape community life on the water. Founded in 1961, the association today has about 1200 members and is a central hub for boating in Hamar.
History
Hamar Båtforening was founded as early as 1961 and has since grown into one of the major boat associations on Lake Mjøsa. Today the club has around 1200 members and about 540 berths. The clubhouse is idyllically located on Tjuvholmen in Hamar and, besides club activities, houses the Tjuvholmen Kro with a full licence. Harbour facilities include Brygga båthavn and Tjuvholmen båthavn; in recent years piers were renewed and reopened as part of the Mjøsfronten works. Infrastructure includes a slipway, storage area and a seasonal motorhome site with 25 pitches, typically open from June to September. The club organises joint events such as boat processions, Midsummer celebrations and maritime safety days, and remains closely linked to waterfront life in Hamar.
