Klub Żeglarski HALS
Klub Żeglarski HALS is a non-profit sailing club from the Gostynin, Płock and Włocławek region with its own waterfront base in Nowy Duninów on the left bank of the Włocławek Reservoir on the Vistula. The club runs a marina jetty, offers weekend courses for the yacht sailor and motorboat skipper licences, and maintains an active Optimist sailing school for children as well as day camps and sailing trips. Regular club and league regattas, including Wisła Sailing Days and the Central Sailing League, shape the sporting programme. For more than twenty years HALS has supported young people and adults from the surrounding area and cooperates with municipal partners.
History
Klub Żeglarski HALS is a social organisation with association status that brings together sailing enthusiasts from the Gostynin–Płock–Włocławek region. The club uses watersports to pursue educational aims and to foster positive attitudes among young people. Sailing strengthens body and mind, builds responsibility and teamwork. The main audience is children and young people from families of varying social status; the club works to equalise opportunities. Year after year, alongside a growing group of young people, more municipal institutions and other social organisations take part. Over more than twenty years, fixed programme elements have been established: a sailing school for children, adult sailing courses, inland and sea cruises, and sporting training and regattas. Szkółka HALS targets primary-school pupils in grades I–III and combines theory, gym and pool training with practice at the club jetty and on waters such as Lake Białe and the Włocławek Reservoir. With the Hals Sailing Team and results such as Flexpol Cup participation and world championship medals, the club has also gained sporting visibility. The club base is at Kasztanowa 2 in Nowy Duninów on the left bank of the Zalew Włocławski.
