Haugesund Seilforening

Haugesund Seilforening is the sailing club for cruising and regatta sailing in the Haugesund district on Norway's west coast. The club facilities are set in scenic surroundings at Fosen and offer sailing, activity and recreation. Members enjoy a large clubhouse surrounded by lawns, dinghy sheds, a fine pier, a bathing cove and a well-developed harbour for members. The club runs regattas for cruising and offshore sailors, dinghy sailing and a sailing school. Around 150 members are organised in a dinghy group and a keelboat group, with room for many more.

History

The website does not provide a detailed historical timeline of founding dates or building projects. What is documented is the club's current character: Haugesund Seilforening promotes cruising and regatta sailing in the Haugesund district. The Fosen site with clubhouse, dinghy sheds, pier, bathing cove and members' harbour is the centre of activity. The programme includes regattas for cruising and offshore sailors, dinghy sailing and a sailing school. Today the club has about 150 members in dinghy and keelboat groups and invites further members as well as support via Norsk Tipping's Grasrotandelen scheme.
