Holbæk Sejlklub
Holbæk Sejlklub is an established sailing club in Holbæk on Holbæk Fjord in Zealand, Denmark, located at Strandmøllevej 249. On the waterfront and club grounds you will find a junior house with terrace, the club canteen Kabyssen, the club boat FREMAD and a new RIB with a 30 hp engine. For children and young people there is the junior department; for beginners and advanced sailors the sailing school Sejlerskolen offers courses in practical and theoretical boating competence from calendar weeks 13 and 43 respectively. The programme includes Wednesday racing and cruising on the fjord, events such as Orø Rundt, active racing in H-Boot and folk boats, and hosting the 2024 Nordic Folkboat Danish Championship. Founded in 1942, the club is preparing its centenary and has recent successes including silver at the H-Boot Danish Championship.
History
Holbæk Sejlklub was founded in 1942, as documented on the club page "Så letter vi 1942", and is also preparing a centenary celebration. Over the decades the club on Holbæk Fjord has become a regional centre for sailing, with strong participation in racing and cruising. The club has a junior house whose terrace was recently fully renewed by volunteer work groups, the Kabyssen canteen, and the large club boat FREMAD with its own dedicated website section. In 2024 Holbæk Sejlklub successfully hosted the Danish Folkboat Championship and ran ten races over three days despite demanding weather. The club recently won silver in the H-Boot Danish Championship. It runs Sejlerskolen for practical and theoretical duelighed, a junior department, a racing committee with Wednesday series, and a diving section. In 2026 a new RIB with a 30 hp engine was acquired and the flag was raised on 26 April. At the 2026 annual general meeting the six-person board was confirmed and Troels Rønsbro Sode was elected to lead Sejlerskolen, while Karl-Johan Kidde Larsen continues as instructor after six years as head.
