Klub Żeglarski Petrochemia Płock
Klub Żeglarski Petrochemia Płock is an active sailing club on the Vistula River in Płock, Masovian Voivodeship. The club runs a small harbour basin with quay, slipway, hangar, changing rooms, club room, kitchen, toilets, showers and parking; the harbour sits in a Vistula bay near the hospital in Winiary. The fleet includes Omega yachts, Micro Polo, Sasanka and Corvette boats plus a motorboat; courses for the Polish yacht sailor certificate (patent Żeglarz Jachtowy) are offered regularly. Members race in regional and national events such as the Płock Sailing Grand Prix, the Polish Cup in the Omega class and the Micro Grand Prix; each year the club organises the ORLEN Cup regatta. With about 70 members – sailors and an informal motorboating/angling group – the club is a fixture of the Płock sailing scene on the Włocławek Reservoir.
History
Klub Żeglarski Petrochemia Płock is based in Płock on the Vistula in the Masovian Voivodeship and operates its own small yacht harbour in a Vistula bay at Winiary. Facilities include quay, slipway, hangar, changing rooms, club room, kitchen, sanitary facilities and parking; an informal motorboat and angling group also helps maintain the infrastructure. For five consecutive years the club won team prizes in the Płock Sailing Grand Prix. Members also compete in national series such as PPJK, the Polish Cup in the Omega class and the Micro Grand Prix, and occasionally abroad. Each year the club hosts the traditional ORLEN Cup sailing regatta – the 36th edition in 2026 – and has organised the Omega ORLEN CUP and the Polish Cup / Polish Championships in the Micro class under title sponsorship by ORLEN S.A. Club culture includes state examinations for the yacht sailor certificate at the club grounds and a traditional sailors’ baptism for newly qualified sailors. Today the club has around 70 members and remains a central organiser and competitor on the Włocławek Reservoir sailing scene.
