KJD Zagreb – Klub jedrenja na dasci Zagreb
KJD Zagreb is Croatia’s first windsurfing club and the official site of Klub jedrenja na dasci Zagreb on Lake Jarun. The club uses premises in Dom tehnike at the ŠRC Jarun sports complex and offers club gear, dry-land simulator training and courses for beginners and advanced riders. Shared training, open days for children and trips to the Adriatic shape the programme for members aged eight to 77. Founded in 1981, the club remains a meeting point for generations of windsurfers in Zagreb and today has more than 50 members.
History
Klub jedrenja na dasci Zagreb (KJD Zagreb) was founded on 22 June 1981 and is the first windsurfing club in Croatia. Over the years it became a well-known gathering place for many generations of new windsurfers and went through every stage of the sport’s development. When the ŠRC Jarun sports and leisure complex was built, the club received rooms in Dom tehnike that it still uses today. The club now has more than 50 members; the youngest is eight years old and the oldest is 77. Club rooms are open from early May to early October; with wetsuits and motivation the season lasts all year, including fitness sessions at VITA Fitness Center. The club runs beginner and advanced courses, fun courses on the coast, day and multi-day trips, and events such as KJD Zagreb Open 2018 in Sveti Filip i Jakov. Members use club boards and sails of various sizes; storage is available for personal equipment.
