Klub Żeglarski Koga-Kotwica
Klub Żeglarski Koga-Kotwica is the sailing club in Rybnik at ul. Rudzka 244 and uses the local Rybnik waters for club sailing and training. Facilities include a training fleet of Maxus 24 and Maxus 22 yachts plus motorboats, charter options for club boats, a bosun's office and a club shelter (wiata) for events. The programme covers yacht-sailor and powerboat skipper courses, individual refresher sessions, and traditional season-opening and season-closing regattas with family fishing competitions. A distinctive tradition is the ceremony at the memorial stone (Kamień Pamięci) with flag raising or lowering during the seasonal celebrations.
History
Klub Żeglarski Koga-Kotwica is based in Rybnik at ul. Rudzka 244, where it maintains a club facility with a training room, bosun's office and a wiata for celebrations. On the local Rybnik waters the club trains with Maxus 24 and Maxus 22 yachts and motorboats and also offers charter of club yachts including Maxus, Dezeta and Venus. Club life includes regular general meetings as well as traditional season openings and closings with regattas, family fishing contests, a ceremony at the Kamień Pamięci and a sailors' feast under the wiata. Documented dates include season openings on 11 May 2024, 3 May 2025 and 25 April 2026, and the 2025 season closing on 27 September with the Pro Memoria regattas. Membership fees were adjusted by general meeting resolutions: for 2024 joining fee and annual fee were 200 zloty each; for 2026 they are 500 zloty joining fee and 400 zloty annual fee plus 20 statutory work hours or an equivalent payment. The club continues to expand training with weekend and intensive courses for yacht sailor and powerboat skipper licences.
