ESV Ingolstadt-Ringsee e.V.
ESV Ingolstadt-Ringsee e.V. is a long-established multi-sport club in Ingolstadt with its own sailing section and the sailing clubhouse at the Ingolstadt weir, located at Im Roten Gries / Fuchsschüttweg. The club operates facilities including those at Geisenfelder Straße 1 and other sports venues, and has more than 2,000 members across 22 sections. The season opening features Ansegeln with regatta action, which regional broadcaster TV.Ingolstadt has also covered. Club life includes training and competition in many sports; sailors use the clubhouse at the Danube weir as their base. For its centenary in 2019 the club received the Federal President's sports plaque and celebrated with a large anniversary weekend.
History
ESV Ingolstadt-Ringsee e.V. looks back on more than one hundred years of club history. To mark its centenary, members celebrated on 6 April 2019 with a large anniversary weekend including a section show, many helpers and strong involvement from the city community. As part of the jubilee the club received the Federal President's sports plaque; Bavaria's Interior and Sports Minister Joachim Herrmann and BLS President Jörg Ammon presented the award at the Munich Residenz to a delegation of the presidency and long-standing ESV members. The plaque is a state recognition for clubs with more than a century of existence and services to sport. Club history is closely linked with football; beside the tennis hall stands the nostalgic Ringsee football stadium, and the press reported on former ESV athletes such as Josef Ledl. More recently the club modernised among other things the heating system, a digital locking system, automated sand court irrigation and the ice stock sports home, based on a new hereditary lease for the facilities. The 2026 general meeting cited more than 2,000 members in 22 sections and largely confirmed the presidency; Margit Seidl was elected as the new vice president.
