Edsbergs Båtklubb
Edsbergs Båtklubb (EBK) is a non-profit boat club with about 200 members and its home harbour in Edsviken in Sollentuna, just north of Stockholm. The summer harbour on Strandvägen has two piers with around 115 berths fitted with booms, plus winter storage places at Tegelhagen within the Sollentuna Båtsportunion. The club also owns the island Lilla Krokholmen with jetties, a sauna and barbecue areas. Membership links berth use to work and watch duties; waiting-list places are granted after board approval and payment of an annual waiting-list fee. In 2024 the club, founded in 1964, celebrated its 60th anniversary.
History
Edsbergs Båtklubb (EBK) was founded in 1964 and has its summer harbour on Strandvägen in Sollentuna. The harbour today comprises two piers with a total of 115 berths and corresponding winter storage places; all berths are fitted with booms. Winter storage is at Tegelhagen, a shared yard of the Sollentuna Båtsportunion, the cooperation body of boat clubs in Sollentuna. The club also owns the club island Lilla Krokholmen with jetties, toilet, sauna and barbecue areas. EBK is a non-profit association whose operations rely largely on members' voluntary work: board and office tasks, official roles, watch duties and work obligations a few times a year. Historically about five to seven new boats could be admitted per year; summer berths are only available together with a winter place at Tegelhagen. In 2013 the county administrative board, after incidents at the toilet pump-out station, set a five-knot speed limit in a marked area at EBK. In 2024 the club celebrated its 60th anniversary with a festivity on 21 September.
