Drøbaksund Seilforening (DSSF)
Drøbaksund Seilforening is an active sailing club in Drøbak on the Oslofjord and has been affiliated with the Norwegian sports confederation since 1963. The club runs its own harbour facilities through Gylteholmen Brygger AS as well as berths at Seilbrygga and Seilsportbrygga in front of the Seilerhytta on Husvikholmen. The programme includes Optimist and ILCA training, windsurfing, J/70 racing including the sailing league, plus cruising and offshore sailing. Regular regattas such as the Wednesday series, Isbrytern and Drøbak–Tristein, along with summer sailing camps for children, shape club life. With around 250 members and a clubhouse with changing rooms, showers and social spaces, the club welcomes beginners and experienced sailors of all ages.
History
Drøbaksund Seilforening (DSSF) was founded in 1963 and is affiliated with Norges Idrettsforbund. Based in Drøbak on the Oslofjord, the club promotes sailing in a safe and social environment focused on mastery, teamwork and sailing joy. Over the years a broad offer developed for children, youth and adults – from Optimist and windsurf courses and summer sailing camps to cruising and offshore sailing. For more experienced sailors the J/70 programme was added; the class is part of the club strategy and is sailed in the Seilsportliga and with a youth team in the Ungdomsliga. On 3 January 2011 the club founded the subsidiary Gylteholmen Brygger AS, which operates an all-year harbour with about 60 berths north of Gylteholmen; the facility opened in summer 2012. DSSF also has about 20 berths at Seilbrygga east of the Heitmann building and around 12 smaller berths at Seilsportbrygga in front of the Seilerhytta. Since 2021 the Drøbak–Tristein regatta has complemented the local calendar alongside established events such as Isbrytern, Wednesday regattas, Jollecup and Håøya rundt. Today the association has around 250 members and offers an inclusive club environment for learning, racing and leisure on the fjord.
