Danderyds båtklubb
Danderyds båtklubb is a boat club founded in 1931 at Nora strand in Danderyd with about 180 members. The jetties face the centre of Edsviken; next to the bay stand the clubhouse, a gravel area for summer parking and winter yard berths. The club allocates summer berths via a waiting list, offers winter storage for boats under five tonnes and requires environmentally approved boats under its environmental policy. Members use the Svenska Båtunionen BAS system for communication, billing and night watches; the environmental plan and harbour rules shape everyday club life.
History
Danderyds båtklubb was founded in 1931 and today has around 180 members. The club is based at Nora strand in Danderyd; the jetties open towards the middle of Edsviken, with the clubhouse, summer gravel parking and winter yard places nearby. Over the decades the club has become a harbour and yard association with clear admission and environmental rules: summer berths are allocated via a long waiting list, and winter places on the yard for boats under five tonnes can be applied for once membership is obtained. Since 1 April 2015 it has been forbidden nationwide to discharge toilet waste into waters; the club maintains a pump-out station at the small launch jetty between piers 3 and 4 and also points to the station in Stocksund. The board has introduced a comprehensive environmental policy: only environmentally approved boats (unpainted bottoms or bottoms with a passed XRF measurement) may use harbour and yard, with the goal of biocidal-free operation. From 2025 the club uses the Svenska Båtunionen BAS membership system for communication and billing; from 2026 the waiting-list place is charged 350 kronor per year. In 2023 the board purchased Stöldskyddsföreningen theft-protection kits for DNA marking of outboard motors and installed information signs at the jetties. Compulsory summer night watches, strict rules against subletting berths and shared yard work continue to define club life.
