History

Grenaa Sejlklub is a Danish sailing club at Grenaa harbour and a member of Dansk Sejlunion and Danmarks Idrætsforbund. The club represents members’ interest in sailing and promotes the sport, especially among young people and beginners. Club life includes racing, a junior section with Optimist sailing, sailing school, cruising, parties, winter events and courses, as well as running the clubhouse as a meeting place. Traditional events include the Whitsun trip to Bønnerup with barbecue and socialising on the pier, and Sankt Hans at the clubhouse. The association manages and rents the first-floor hall for private and public events with harbour views. A volunteer board and members in committees handle daily leadership, finances and facilities. Tuesday race results are published; the club’s own buoys mark courses according to wind and weather.
