Båtsällskapet Lögarängen
Båtsällskapet Lögarängen (BSL) is a boat club with a summer harbour at Torparstaden on the island of Ridön in Lake Mälaren near Västerås. The club grounds offer jetties with power for battery charging, a clubhouse, sauna, barbecue area, toilets, a playground, plus pedal boats and sailing dinghies for children. Members use the facility without extra visit fees and take part in parties, winter activities and joint work such as jetty construction. Through Mälarens Båtförbund the club belongs to the Swedish Boat Union and provides access to partner offers for winter storage, yard services and boat insurance.
History
Båtsällskapet Lögarängen maintains its club harbour in Torpstadssundet on the southern part of Ridön in Lake Mälaren. The harbour has been extended to give members safe and comfortable berths. The grounds include a clubhouse for parties and shared meals, a sauna with firewood prepared by members, green slopes towards the harbour and a play area with sandbox and swings. A covered barbecue site and an environmentally friendly toilet system complete the infrastructure. More recently members upgraded the jetties; about 98 percent of the roughly 100-metre long jetty received new decking. In 2026 the waste room at Torparstaden was reopened after Sveaskog extended the disposal contract. The club is a member of the Swedish Boat Union via Mälarens Båtförbund and cooperates with Västerås Förenade Båtklubbar and Båtklubbarnas varv.
