Brønnøysund Båtforening

Brønnøysund Båtforening is the boat and sailing club of Brønnøysund on Norway’s Helgeland coast, with its grounds on Gårdsøya. The marina offers 152 berths across five piers with electricity and water, a slipway and boat launch, fuel filling for members, plus a clubhouse and good parking. The club also maintains an area on Strømøya that is a popular year-round meeting place for members and other boaters. Club life serves recreational boaters and sailors; traditional and modern sailing craft are found in the region. Founded in 1970 as Brønnøy Småbåtlag and renamed in 1997, the association has around 213 members and runs marina operations through pier chiefs and a slipway manager.

History

Brønnøysund Båtforening was founded in 1970 under the name Brønnøy Småbåtlag. In 1997 the name was changed to Brønnøysund Båtforening. The club area is located on Gårdsøya and includes a marina with 152 berths on five piers with electricity and water, slipway and boat launch, oil filling for members, as well as a clubhouse and parking. The club also has an area on Strømøya that is a popular meeting place for members and other boaters year-round. From 2007 the marina manager role was discontinued; pier chiefs took over operation and maintenance of the piers, while the chair and treasurer keep the waiting list and berth allocation records. At the annual meeting on 18 March 2026 the board and functional officers were newly elected, including Tor Berg as chair as well as the pier chiefs and the slipway manager.
