Båtklubben Terna
Båtklubben Terna is the official boat and sailing club in Orkanger, Trøndelag, Norway, with its own marina, permanent and rented berths, and winter and summer boat storage. The club has a clubhouse with a large hall and kitchen for about 100 people, step-free access via chairlift, a meeting room and a pavilion, all available for hire including to non-members. Members can apply for berths with a deposit or monthly rental berths on piers A to C and use guest berths, slipway/wheel loader and trailer storage. Besides the ladies' club and veterans' committee there is a youth club; club life and harbour operations are organised through news, volunteer workdays and harbour watch. The club magazine Ternanytt documents club history back to the late 1960s.
History
Båtklubben Terna is an established boat club in Orkanger. The club archive holds issues of the magazine Ternanytt from 1969 to 1976, including numbers from 1969, 1970, 1971, 1973, 1974 and 1976. Club history is thus documented at least to the late 1960s. Today the club runs its own website with member services, berth management, harbour prices and rules for harbour watch and the election committee. Current club life includes annual general meetings, board meetings, spring and autumn volunteer days, boat launching and haul-out with crane, harbour watch rotas and events such as the Pentecost bonfire on the club grounds. Alongside main membership there are Dameklubben Terna, Ungdomsklubben and Veterankomité. The clubhouse is hired for weddings, confirmations, birthdays and other celebrations and is also open to non-members.
