Borstahusens Segelsällskap
Borstahusens Segelsällskap (BSS) is the sailing club in the historic fishing village of Borstahusen near Landskrona on the Öresund. The club is based in Borstahusen harbour and has a clubhouse with terrace as well as boat storage and yard space by the harbour. Its programme includes the long-standing club race Torsdagssegling, joint launch days for larger boats and social clubhouse life after the starts. For children and juniors there are sailing schools, Optimist introduction, weekly junior sailing and a summer sailing course series in Borstahusen harbour. Distinctive features are cooperation with the Landskrona clubs LSS and OBK in the Thursday races and active youth work with new double-handed dinghies for junior sailing.
History
Borstahusens Segelsällskap is the sailing club of the fishing village of Borstahusen near Landskrona and shapes club life on the Öresund with clubhouse, harbour operations and racing tradition. For many years Uwe Puls chaired the club as ordförande; after 16 years he stepped down at the annual meeting on 26 March 2026, and Paul Tenning’s five years as vice ordförande also ended. Anki Knutsson was elected ordförande; Peter Jinnestål, Bengt Holmqvist and Karolina Puls were among those newly elected to the board. Torsdagssegling is a long-standing club race off Borstahusen, Landskrona and Ven and is also open to members of LSS and OBK; in 2026 the season started on 7 May at 19:00, with the late-summer and autumn series from 6 August. Youth and dinghy work includes spring and autumn training, a pirate sailing school for children aged five to eight with Optimist introduction, and the summer sailing school led by head instructor Lova with assistants Emil, Oskar and William. In April 2026 BSS received a jubilee donation from Odd Fellow Urania Landskrona and support from Helsingborg Fartygs Befälhavare Sällskap for youth sailing, including two new RS Feva XL double-handed dinghies. After the 2026 sailing season, renovations of the clubhouse brick façades and the terrace in front are planned; harbour areas and boat yard surfaces are also being worked on.
