History
Altmühltal-Segelclub (ATSC) 1970 carries the year 1970 in its name. The club is seated in Muhr am See; its sailing area is Lake Altmühlsee and its home port is the Segelzentrum Muhr am See. It is a member of the Bavarian State Sports Association (BLSV) and the Bavarian Sailing Federation (BSV). According to its statutes, its purpose is to promote sporting sailing, especially for young people, to train members in sailing skills and technique, and to foster camaraderie. This is achieved through regular gatherings, practical and theoretical courses, examinations, regattas, cruising, and the construction and maintenance of necessary facilities. The youth section manages itself within the statutes and organises sailing camps and youth work. The statutes were last amended on 31 March 2025; the current membership fee rules were adopted by the general meeting on 21 March 2015 and apply from 1 January 2016. Today ATSC 1970 offers Laser/ILCA training, youth sailing camps and the annual Schlauchkat meeting on Lake Altmühlsee, and operates a webcam from the club grounds at the Seezentrum.
