History
Association Nautique de Saint-Pierre (ANSP) was founded in 1965 and has existed for more than fifty years. Its purpose is to develop water sports above and below the water for all audiences. The association has a sailing section and a diving section. Today it has about 230 members, including roughly 90 divers and 80 cruising sailors; about fifty young people and adults train in the sports school (windsurfing, Optimist, Jardin des Mers). Three employed qualified instructors (Nicolas, Jean and Mathéo) teach Optimist, windsurfing, funboard, wingfoil and cruising. Diving is supervised by volunteer federation instructors; some First Class 8 outings are run by volunteer skippers. The board has 15 members; president Denise is supported by a vice-president, Marc handles the treasury and Claude the secretariat. ANSP is affiliated with FFV and FFESSM. The fleet includes cruiser Bergerac (Sun Odyssey 379, built 2013), racing yacht Joke (First Class 8) and dive boat Korrigan. Holiday courses, island and Mauritius cruises and habitable regattas such as the “Régate des 61 ans” are held regularly.
