Club Náutico Sevilla
Club Náutico Sevilla is a long-established multi-sport club on the Guadalquivir in the Los Remedios district of Seville. Its official website documents a sailing section with a summer sailing school, Optimist racing and Flying Dutchman results, plus a marina with more than 100 berths across about 55,000 square metres of facilities. Alongside pontoons, boat storage and catering there are swimming pools, a gym, tennis, padel, rowing and canoeing. Youth development is central: summer campus, sports schools and up to 150–200 children in the sections. The club is marking its 75th anniversary and ranks among Seville’s leading sports clubs.
History
Club Náutico Sevilla is celebrating its 75th anniversary and looks back on a long Olympic and Paralympic tradition on the Guadalquivir. As early as 1960, José Antonio Sahuquillo, Enrique Castelló and Joaquín Real became the club’s first Olympians in rowing at the Rome Games. In 1968 Gerardo López Espejo opened Andalusia’s Olympic canoeing path for the Piragüismo section in Mexico; his brother Álvaro López Espejo continued the Olympic line in 1972 in Munich in the K4. Adolfo Fernández de la Hoz, a member since 1964, earned a diploma in the 100 m freestyle at Toronto 1976 as the club’s first Paralympian and is now an honorary member. The international sailing ascent of the Guadalquivir has been held since 1966 and reached its 60th edition in 2026. In 2012 the club co-founded the Foro Interclubes de Sevilla (FISE). Today the site covers about 55,000 square metres with more than 100 berths; Olympic and Paralympic athletes in rowing, canoeing and swimming continue to shape the club’s reputation, and Seville City Council named it the best entity of the Los Remedios district.
