Club Náutico Torre Horadada

Club Náutico Torre Horadada is a nautical club on the Spanish Mediterranean coast in Torre de la Horadada, Alicante province. The facility opened on 27 July 1979 and, after completion of the marina renovation, offers 331 berths for boats from 6 to 18 metres in length. The clubhouse provides a cafeteria, restaurant, terraces, TV room, reading area, children's zone and WiFi. In summer the club runs a sailing school recognised by the Federación Valenciana de Vela with boats such as Optimist, Cadet and Laser; several students form the regatta team, which trains year-round. The programme includes cruiser regattas, the Interescuelas regatta for sailing school pupils and fishing competitions. With around 300 members, the club offers 24-hour marina service, a light-sail dry dock, a 10-tonne crane and ISO 14001 environmental management.

History

Club Náutico Torre Horadada began operations on 27 July 1979 with capacity for 539 berths. Shortly after opening, the sailing school was established to introduce residents of Torre de la Horadada and Pilar de la Horadada, as well as club members, to boating. The school belongs to the network of sailing schools approved by the Federación Valenciana de Vela and operates as an Escuela de Vela Azul under an environmental education project of the FVCV and ADEAC. In 2010 the regatta team was founded to promote sailing throughout the year; members come from the sailing school, club members and the local population. Membership peaked at 525 in 2012; the club currently has around 300 members from Alicante and Murcia provinces as well as other Spanish regions and European countries including Germany, Belgium, France and the United Kingdom. In 2023 the club received a 35-year extension of its administrative concession from the Comunidad Valenciana. Major renovation work followed, including modernisation of the marina to create an updated port with 331 berths for lengths from 6 to 18 metres. The club maintains ISO 14001 environmental management and promotes clean seas, waste separation and environmental awareness. Honorary members include the Ayuntamiento Pilar de la Horadada, Guardia Civil Torre Horadada and several long-standing supporters of the club.
