Circolo del Remo e della Vela di Montedoglio is an Italian amateur sports association (ASD) on Lake Montedoglio in the Valtiberina region of Tuscany. The club was born from the desire to experience the lake as a place of meeting, discovery and shared enjoyment, and according to its statutes promotes sailing, canoeing, rowing, stand-up paddleboarding and open-water swimming. On the calm waters of the reservoir it offers accessible pathways in sailing and canoeing for children, young people, adults and families – from first steps to competition-oriented programmes with participation in national regattas. The mission emphasises inclusion, training young sailors and paddlers, community and environmental protection at the lake, and the ambition to establish Montedoglio as a venue for national regatta events. Club-owned structures and the use of sports facilities serve to spread water sports as widely as possible; the club is linked to the Federazione Italiana Vela and provides a SkyLine webcam of Lake Montedoglio.
History
Circolo del Remo e della Vela di Montedoglio is established as an amateur sports association with its registered office in San Giustino (PG), Via Degli Alfieri n. 6, in accordance with its statutes and aligned with the spirit of the Italian Constitution and the requirements of CONI and affiliated sports federations. According to the statutes, the association pursues non-profit sporting, recreational and cultural aims and permanently organises amateur sport – in particular sailing, canoeing, rowing, stand-up paddleboarding and open-water swimming. The club page Il Circolo describes its origins in the wish to live Lake Montedoglio as a place of coming together, discovery and shared experience; sailing and canoeing are meant to teach self-knowledge, cooperation and respect for nature and others. The vision states the aim of being an open and welcoming meeting point where people of all ages experience water sports as a means of building trust, character and community. The mission details inclusive offers for families, involvement of schools and associations, development of young sailors and rowers, recreation for adults, support at competition trips and the ambition to host national regatta stages – always with a focus on sustainability and protection of the lake.
