Centre Nautique et de Plein Air de Lesconil (CNPA)
The Centre Nautique et de Plein Air de Lesconil (CNPA) is a water sports association founded in 1984 on the cove of Lesconil in the Pays Bigouden (Finistère, Brittany). The site sits between harbour and beach in the village centre and uses about two nautical miles of sailing area from Skividan to the Les Bleds buoy, with the Glénan archipelago on the horizon. Courses and rental cover Optimist, catamaran, windsurfing, sea kayak and stand-up paddle, plus trips on the traditional misainier and aqua walking. The leisure club meets on Saturdays for social sailing; summer camps and youth programmes welcome children from age four as well as teenagers and adults. A distinctive feature is the mix of club life, training centre and the protected natural setting around the Ster, Sables Blancs and the rocks of Enizan and Goudoul.
History
The Centre Nautique et de Plein Air de Lesconil (CNPA) was founded in 1984 by sailing enthusiasts as an Association loi 1901. Its purpose has always been to open water sports to as many people as possible. The association settled on the cove of Lesconil between harbour and beach and built a programme of courses, rental and club sailing across roughly two nautical miles from Skividan to the Les Bleds buoy. Over the decades it developed a broad offer for children, teenagers and adults: Optimist, catamaran, windsurfing, kayak, stand-up paddle, misainier trips and aqua walking. The leisure club meets on Saturdays for sociable sailing on capable craft. In May 2024 the CNPA celebrated its 40th anniversary, with anniversary items sold in the club shop. The association also upholds safety and environmental standards, including the Bigouden Spot quality charter, qualified instructors, gear checks, waste sorting, beach cleaning and rainwater recovery. Today the CNPA combines club life, training and leisure activities in a protected stretch of the Pays Bigouden coast facing the Glénan archipelago.
