Club Nautique de Pully

Club Nautique de Pully (CNP) is a family-friendly, dynamic sailing club on Lake Geneva in Pully, Canton of Vaud. The club runs a recognised sailing school and accompanies sailors from beginner training through to the national team. On the waterfront stand the clubhouse and pontoon restaurant; the fleet includes Optimist, ILCA, 29er, J/70 and Surprise among others. Weekly courses, holiday camps and joint regattas with Club Nautique de Lutry shape the programme. As a Swiss Olympic regional performance centre with over 500 members, the club ranks among the major training clubs on the Lake Geneva arc.

History

Club Nautique de Pully was founded in 1973 and has since animated the shores of Pully with regattas and its sailing school. The junior movement (sailing and sports school) began in 1976 and is regarded as dynamic and well recognised; about one hundred children are enrolled year-round, and more than thirty junior competitors represent the club on waters across Switzerland and Europe. Each year a further 300 to 350 children take holiday courses to discover sailing and lake life. Alternating with Club Nautique de Lutry, the club organises Wednesday-evening training regattas. The traditional Semaine du soir, with a race each evening from Monday to Friday, takes place in the week before the school year starts. Further regional and national series regattas are regularly hosted. In 2004 Swiss Sailing named the club Switzerland's best training club; in 2014 it received the award for best sports club in the Canton of Vaud. In 2023 the association celebrated its 50th anniversary.
