Club Nautique de Mazerolles

Club Nautique de Mazerolles is a sailing and watersports club in Sucé-sur-Erdre on the River Erdre, about 15 minutes northeast of Nantes. The club is located in the protected Natura 2000 area of the Plaine de Mazerolles on a roughly 200-hectare water body, with its own base including classroom, changing rooms, showers, pontoon, crane and boat storage. It offers courses and competition training on Optimist, Open Skiff and ILCA as well as catamaran, double-handed dinghy, windsurfing and wingfoil, plus holiday camps and free sailing for members. Youth and adult programmes, regattas such as the Mazcup and pleasure-craft licence training define the offer. Since its founding in 2018 as an Association loi 1901, the club promotes watersports, youth education and the preservation of the Mazerolles natural site.

History

Club Nautique de Mazerolles (CNM) was founded in 2018 as an Association loi 1901 and is run by a collegial board of volunteer members. The club's aims are to promote watersports, train young people, protect the environment and preserve the Mazerolles site. The sailing school sits in the Plaine de Mazerolles Natura 2000 area with a bird reserve and a roughly 200-hectare stretch of water on the Erdre at Sucé-sur-Erdre. Facilities include classrooms, changing rooms, showers, sanitary facilities, a launching crane, boat parking for up to 100 places, a pontoon and four launching beaches for dinghy sailing. A club project for 2022–2025 was presented. CNM regularly organises regattas such as the Mazcup, the Coupe Départementale final and Pays de la Loire youth championships, and continually expands its fleet and programmes in Optimist, Open Skiff, ILCA, catamaran, windsurfing and wingfoil.
