History

Real Club Náutico Dénia was inaugurated in 1968 by sea enthusiasts and has grown into one of the main nautical clubs on Spain’s Mediterranean coast. Activities expanded into new sports and technologies; since 2009 the marina holds the Blue Flag for environmental quality. In 2008 the club received the IX Hempel Award for quality and service in recreational boating. Modernised facilities now accommodate over 600 boats up to 20 metres, 7,474 m² of dry storage and a yard of about 6,716 m² with a 70-tonne travelift and 3.2-tonne crane. Sports schools develop sailors, rowers, kayakers and anglers and feed racing squads; adapted sport and environmental work near Montgó Natural Park and protected marine areas complement the programme. Diana de Oro, among the Mediterranean’s oldest regattas, has defined club identity for over fifty years; the 55th edition in 2026 was held as Memorial Gustavo Gastaldi. Club teams race nationally and internationally, including the J/70 Let it be at European and world events and ORC entries at Trofeo S.M. La Reina.
